Porcelain Veneers In Buford, GA | Smile Studio Of Buford

Smile Studio of Buford

Cosmetic & General Dentist located in Buford, GA

Most people who ask us about veneers don't actually want a brand new smile. They want to stop noticing their teeth in every photo. So that's where we start. We design veneers around your face, your bite, and how you actually use your mouth (talking, eating, laughing), not off some stock template. Some patients need one veneer. Some need eight. We'll tell you the truth either way, before anything gets decided.

What veneers actually are (and what they aren't)

Veneers are thin layers of porcelain bonded to the front of your natural teeth. They cover chips, cracks, staining that whitening can't touch, gaps, worn edges, and teeth that are too short or oddly shaped. What they are not: a replacement for a tooth (that's a crown or a dental implant), and they're not orthodontics. They cover teeth. They don't move them.

The right candidate usually has healthy teeth and gums, plus one or more of these bugging them:

  • A chipped or cracked front tooth that catches the eye
  • Years of coffee, wine, or tetracycline staining that whitening hasn't fixed
  • A small gap between the front teeth they've never liked
  • Teeth that look worn down or shorter than they used to
  • One or two teeth that don't match the rest

If the real problem is decay, we'll say so. If you grind, we're going to talk about a nightguard before we bond a single veneer. Veneers on the wrong patient fail early, and we'd rather lose the case than set you up for that.

Pricing (real numbers)

We post our cosmetic pricing out in the open, because people make these decisions at the kitchen table, not the front desk.

  • Cosmetic consultation: Complimentary
  • Porcelain veneer, per tooth: $1,200 to $2,000
  • Package pricing for 6 or 8 veneers: Available, ask at your consult
  • Trial smile / mockup preview: Included when we plan 4 or more

Insurance usually won't cover veneers, because they're classified as cosmetic. We take HSA and FSA cards. For most patients, the simplest path is monthly payments through Cherry, and checking your rate doesn't ding your credit.

Why patients pick Smile Studio for veneers

A few things you won't find at every office in Buford:

  • IV sedation, in-house. If you've got dental anxiety, a strong gag reflex, or you just don't want to sit through two appointments of prep work, you can sleep through it. Dr. Workman does the sedation here.
  • Digital smile preview. Before we touch a tooth, we show you a 3D mockup of what your veneers will look like in your actual mouth. You sign off on the shape, length, and shade.
  • Trial smile. Getting 4 or more? We can make a temporary mockup you wear for a few days. Live with the new shape. Show your spouse. Eat a real dinner in it. Then decide.
  • One dentist, both visits. Dr. Workman preps your teeth and bonds your final veneers. You don't get handed off to someone else for the second appointment.

What the process actually looks like

Two appointments, usually 2 to 3 weeks apart.

Appointment 1 (90 to 120 minutes). We take digital scans and photos, talk through shape and shade, build the mockup, then prep the teeth (about half a millimeter of enamel off the front) and place temporaries. Most patients don't even need numbing. If you'd rather have it, or you want IV sedation for the visit, we'll have it ready.

Between appointments. You wear temporaries while a master ceramist hand-layers your final porcelain at our partner lab. This is the part where artistry actually matters. We send every veneer case to the same lab, so the shade-matching and translucency stay consistent.

Appointment 2 (60 to 90 minutes). We try in the finals, you look in the mirror, we adjust anything that feels off, then we bond them for good. You walk out with the new smile that day.

Caring for your veneers (the realistic version)

Veneers last 10 to 20 years for most people, longer for some. What we see move that number in the office:

  • Grinding kills veneers. If you grind at night, wear the nightguard we make you. Not optional.
  • Don't use your teeth as tools. No biting fingernails, ice, pen caps, or packaging. Same rule for natural teeth, but the bond on a veneer gives out faster than enamel does.
  • Brush and floss like normal. Veneers don't change your routine. The parts of the tooth they don't cover can still get a cavity.
  • Keep your cleanings. Every 6 months, same as always. We polish veneers with a non-abrasive paste so the surface stays glossy.
  • Go easy on staining the first week. The bond fully cures over the first 48 hours, so skip the red wine and coffee for a couple of days.

Is now the right time?

Veneers cost real money, and they're permanent. We'd rather have you wait six months and do it right than push you into a case you're not ready for. If you're just curious, the complimentary consult is the no-risk way to find out. You'll walk out knowing:

  • Whether you're actually a candidate (some people are better served by whitening plus bonding, or by getting their teeth straightened first with Invisalign)
  • How many veneers you'd need
  • The exact cost
  • Your monthly payment if you finance
  • A 3D preview of the result

No deposit, no commitment. Call 678-528-0772 or book online. If you're weighing veneers against other options, our Cosmetic Dentistry overview and Smile Makeovers pages lay out the rest.

FAQ

How long do porcelain veneers last?
Most last 10 to 20 years. The two things that swing it: whether you grind at night (wear the nightguard) and whether you use your teeth as tools. We've got patients with veneers from 15 years ago that still look great. We've also seen veneers fail in 3 years because someone skipped the nightguard.

Do veneers hurt?
The prep appointment is usually painless. We take about half a millimeter of enamel off the front of each tooth, less than you'd feel at a routine cleaning. Most patients don't need numbing. If you're anxious or sensitive, we can do local anesthetic or IV sedation.

How much do veneers cost in Buford?
$1,200 to $2,000 per tooth at our practice. Package pricing is available for 6 or 8 veneers. Insurance usually won't cover them since they're cosmetic, but we take HSA and FSA and offer monthly payments through Cherry.

Will my veneers look fake?
Not if they're done right. Our ceramist hand-layers porcelain in different translucencies to mimic real enamel, and you approve the shape, length, and shade on a digital mockup before anything's final. When a veneer looks fake, it's almost always too white, too opaque, or the wrong shape for the patient's face. We design around your face and lip line, not a stock smile.

How many veneers do I actually need?
Depends on what you want to fix and how wide your smile is. One chipped front tooth might need a single veneer. A "social six" covers the six top front teeth. A full smile design usually runs 8 or 10. At the consult we'll show you exactly which teeth show when you smile and laugh, and we only recommend veneers on the ones that affect what you see.

Can I just whiten my teeth instead?
Sometimes, yes. If staining is your only issue and your teeth are otherwise well shaped, whitening is faster and a lot cheaper, and we'll tell you that straight. Veneers are the right call when whitening alone can't fix it: chips, gaps, shape problems, or deep tetracycline staining.

Are veneers reversible?
No. Because we remove a thin layer of enamel to prep the tooth, veneers are permanent. Once you have them, you'll need veneers (or crowns) on those teeth for life. That's exactly why we don't rush anyone into the decision.

Do you offer financing for veneers?
Yes. Most of our veneer patients use Cherry for monthly payments. It's built for dental and cosmetic care, and checking your rate takes about 60 seconds with no hit to your credit. We also take HSA and FSA, CareCredit, and Sunbit.

What if I'm nervous about the appointment?
Tell us at the consult. Dr. Workman is one of the few dentists in Buford offering IV sedation in-house. If you've got severe anxiety, a bad gag reflex, or you just want to sleep through the prep, sedation makes it a non-issue. You'll wake up with your temporaries already in.

How do I know if I'm a good candidate?
The complimentary consult answers that honestly. We check the health of your teeth and gums, look at your bite, ask about grinding, and tell you whether veneers make sense or whether something else (whitening, bonding, orthodontics, or a crown) would serve you better. No pressure, no deposit.
